Derived from a late-ripening site that touches Vaulorent, Piuze's 2022 Chablis Terroir Decouverte exhibits aromas of orange oil, pear, white flowers and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, bright and layered, with lively acids and a penetrating, saline finish, it's a fine effort.

Light to mid-yellow, flashes of green. Aroma of toasted nuts, cut grass, wet straw. Fine, rich flavours of lemon, baked apple, a little butter. Later as the wine aerated a note of toffee. Bone dry with acidity balancing the richness. Excellent food wine.

The nose exhibits additional breadth in the form of white flowers and pear aromas that offer just enough Chablis typicity to be persuasive. As is usually the case the medium-bodied flavors are a bit more concentrated with a lovely minerality that adds a sense of lift to the slightly more complex and longer finish. This should drink well young but age well too.
