Ruby red color. Light with berry flavors and a round flavor. Surprisingly refreshing taste. Dry but not excessively so. Modest tannins, good earthy finish. On the nose, this wine is characterized by fresh aromas of raspberry and ripe strawberries. On the palate, its soft and fleshy structure supports cherry and sweet spice flavors.

The "Sentinelle" cuvee is the more precocious of the two reds produced at Massiac. The tannins are more supple and the fruit a touch riper, more forward and less rustic than its companion. Fermentation and elevage are in tank. The wine is bottled within a year of the harvest. The blend is usually two-thirds Syrah and one-third Carignan.
