Jean-Marc produces a remarkable red Chassagne-Montrachet from just over a hectare of Pinot Noir vines planted in 1960, and this old-vine cuvee is noteworthy in its complexity-particularly for a villages-level wine. Exceptionally structured, it nonetheless offers a purity of fruit, plus a gently earthy, brambly edge which speaks clearly of its Chassagne origin. 100% whole-cluster.

A slightly riper and darker fruited nose is comprised by notes of cassis, black cherry and subtle spice and earth nuances. Here too there is excellent richness to the finer if not quite as dense flavors that are shaped by moderately firm tannins on the complex and sneaky long finish.

From a .214 hectare vineyard called Le Village, planted in 1989. In general, the vines in Saint-Aubin are approximately 100 meters higher elevation than Meursault. Fermented and aged on the lees in demi-muids of one and two year wines. Named after Vincent's son, Thomas.
